Pet Anesthesia and Surgery
Anesthetic safety for pets is extremely important and at AWVH, it is our standard of care for all pets undergoing anesthesia or prolonged sedation to perform the following:
• A pre-surgical exam
• Preemptive and multi-modal pain management
• Anesthetic monitoring
• IV surgical support
• Pre-anesthetic blood-work at the doctor’s discretion
During the procedure, our certified technicians monitor the patient’s vitals and depth of anesthesia with their own trained eyes, ears and hands along with using state of the art monitoring equipment that monitor’s blood pressure, respiratory rate, amount of oxygen in the blood and the heart rate.
