Pet Anesthesia and Surgery

Pet Anesthesia and Surgery

The veterinarians at Arvada West Veterinary Hospital offer many routine surgery options such as:
• Spays
• Neuters
• Growth/mass removals
• Biopsies
• Treatment of ear hematomas
• Extra-Capsular Stabilization (treatment for ruptured cruciate ligaments)

Emergency Surgery

Emergency veterinary surgery is needed when your pet’s life is in danger and is determined on a case-by-case basis by the veterinarian upon the exam. Emergency surgery can be anything from a dog bite to an intestinal obstruction, but we have listed several examples of cases below:
• C-Sections
• GDV—Gastric Dilatation-Volvulus (Bloat)
• Intestinal obstruction
• Respiratory obstruction
• Laceration
• Dog bites

Surgery Policy

One of our staff will call you the day before your pet’s surgery to remind you of your appointment and go over pre-surgery instructions. On the night before a procedure, please give your dog NO food, treats or snacks after 8 p.m. It’s ok to give your pet water all night. Please do NOT feed your pet breakfast in the morning before surgery, but it’s all right to give your pet water.
